Track Team Success

Why is Track Team So Successful?

By Gabe Greenberg

As a member of the track team, I can say, without exaggeration, that the TABC track team is one of the most successful teams, ever, in TABC history. Since the team began in 2013, we have been winning the Yeshiva League Title ever since.

And what makes the track team so special? Our amazing, talented athletes. Here’s the rundown: Yeoshoua Kanarek (19), our junior captain, who runs a 11.72 seconds in a 100m dash, and wins the 400m dash every race; Yaakov Wieder (18), our captain, who, with his leadership, has had a huge impact on the team and has been one of TABC’s fastest runners ever; Gabe Greenberg (19), another junior captain, who has been one of our most avid long distance runners and has shown up for every track meet since freshman year, serving as a great role model for our crew of long distance runners.

This year, the track team is lucky to have so many hardworking, talented runners, who continue to follow in the footsteps of the greatest long distance runner at TABC, Zack Greenberg (16). He earned this title by consistently winning in the two-mile run, running a half marathon in 1:34 minutes, and for completing the full Jerusalem Marathon by age 17, coming in first in his age group.

Last but not least, we are awesome because we have incredible team spirit. At every track meet, TABC has a vast array of shtick, like cheering on every school who has girls on their team and doing the “Zack Greenberg stretch.” In my opinion, the track team is one of the greatest sports teams ever and should continue winning the league every year.
